Drive Ten Thousand
Kilometers Across India? Just For Fun!

Three twenty-something dare to do just that! While the two boys take turns to drive, the girl gives voice-over as they record their entire journey on a handy cam.

Ab, Sasha and Unnati are ordinary youngsters, rendered special by the feat they accomplish. As they recount their adventures, I crave to live their journey. They look at each other with a glint in their eyes, as if refurbishing those memories while narrating their spooky time at Bhangarh Fort, strange escapades at Wagah Border and Sundarbans, car breakdowns, wild animals, near-death experiences and highway robbers! It’s nothing less than crazy.

I doubted if I ever had the gumption to create such experiences. So I did the next best thing – I penned a book about them, and their roadtrip.

Colorful Notions is a journey of three young hearts on the Indian terrain and into the inner recesses of their souls, giving a new perspective to relationships, love and life.

About the Story
The storyline revolves around three friends – Ab, Sasha, and Unnati. They all hail from different backgrounds and are trapped in various predicaments. However, the one string that binds them together is their enthusiasm for a road trip. While covering the states of India, they encounter exuberant as well as some unfortunate situations. The story is about passion, friendship, love, vigilance, and heartbreak.

Writing & Narration
Albeit the storyline is thrilling, but the way it has been narrated is not up-to-the-mark. The writing style of the author is not distinct from any other novice one. A bit of narration refining could have done wonders to the plot.

Title & Cover
The title and the cover of the book are fascinating and arouse curiosity in readers. These aspects of the book are precise and perfectly match the storyline.

Pros
  • ·         The concept is distinct.
  • ·         The attempt of showing the emotions has turned out appropriately.

Cons
  • ·         The editing is the drawback of the story.
  • ·         The grammatical errors have overpowered the excitement to read it.

My verdict
The road trip is one such thing that each one of us aspires to experience. Whether with friends or with siblings, doesn’t matter, all you need is a car and guts to be rebellious enough to come out of the restrictions and hit the road. The author has tried to ignite that fire within every person who craves to roam around the world. It is a good and light read. It inspires you to follow your dreams as you may not get enough chances ahead. So, read it to read an inspiring story wrapped in entertainment.
