An Insight of Adhira and the journey of Aditti Gaur
For the first time ever, I am going to conduct an interview on my blog. And, I am glad to introduce Aditti Gaur, today. Her much celebrated book 'Adhira' is back to lure your hearts with her kindness and self - sacrificing traits.
So, let's hear about Adhira from the authoress herself.
Q. How did you come up with the idea of writing a book?
A. Since childhood or you can say school days, I had a strange habit of writing fictional scenes into my daily diaries, which were inspired from the things happening around me. This strange habit followed me after my marriage also. Just the intensity of the scenes kept on changing, from childhood's immature memories to grown up's mature dramas. One fine day, my husband got one of my diaries and he read the things I wrote in that. He instantly came up with the idea of story writing. After several denies from my side I had to agree on that because he was so sure that I can do it. And that's how Adhira came out of my mind.
Q. Where did you find the inspiration to find this book?
A. I cannot pin-point the exact one thing that inspired me to write Adhira. There are several situations which I've seen or faced in my life that reflect in Adhira's story. Apart from that, Adhira herself is an inspiration. While sketching her character I needed a lot of patience, restraint and positive mind.
Q. What exactly does your book conveys?
A. Adhira's story is about different people living altogether. This book is about a journey of struggles, achievements, responsibilities, passion & love in a woman's life. How she calmly dealt with the complexities that life threw at her. How she lost her love and found it again. A story where she realizes that sometimes silence is a powerful scream and indication of something being terribly wrong.
Q. What all was going in your head while penning down Adhira?
A. You know Himanshika, apart from all the different kinds of relationships I've shown in this book, Adhira's story focused on her disease. Aplastic Anemia - a disorder in which the bone marrow stops producing cells. This is quite a rare disease which we are talking about in this book. I have done a lot of research work for this project because I wanted to gain enough medicinal knowledge to write about Aplastic Anemia, something totally unknown to us. Moreover, I didn't want my readers to think that I'd just put up this disease to gain sympathy for my character or my book. NO! I've selected such a rare disease to spread the awareness among my readers about Apalstic Anemia, whose root cause is not iron deficiency, which million people think because it has Anemia word in it, but it's something more, something which we deliberately avoid on our daily basis. The biggest fear in my head while penning down this story was, what if I could not portray the emotions and the trauma of a diseased person perfectly?
Q. How much time you used to commit to your book?
A. It took a whole year to study and collect the necessary information about Adhira's disease, which we are going to describe thoroughly in Adhira's sequel. Initially, I'd complete this story in six months but the research process took time. Right now, we'd enhanced our research to make our readers understand better about Aplastic Anemia in Adhira's sequel, which I am currently writing.
Q. What do you expect from your book?
A. I just want Adhira to reach the people's heart. Readers will love her and remember her in the most positive way.
Q. Was there any moment when you backed off from the idea of writing the book?
A. You already know about Adhira's first edition and its unfortunate debacle due to the lack of editing and promotions. After that I decided to quit but the constant efforts by Tushti, Sandeep, and Aashish didn't let me do that.
Q. What is the meaning of' 'Inspiration' for you? Who all have inspired you?
A. Inspiration comes from within; to get inspired you need to be positive. For example - if you want to be inspired, then a single act of kindness can inspire you but if you don't want to appreciate the positive things in your life, then no one in this world can inspire you.
A lot of people inspired me in my life. My mother, my teachers, sometimes a stranger, sometimes a friend like you! But the biggest inspiration in my life is & will be always Adhira. She has inspired me million times in positive ways.
Q. Have you ever found 'Adhira' in 'Aditti'?
A. Adhira & Aditti are totally two different people. Adhira inspires us to be like her in many ways, she is reflecting a part of everything a woman could be, if she wished to. She is young, independent, successful individual who selflessly loves and cares about everyone. She is a walking inspiration, which I am not.
Q. What message do you want to give to the others?
A. Write from your heart. Put your soul in your story and have faith in your dreams.
So, this was Aditti talking about her creation. If you haven't grabbed your copy of Adhira, then buy it here.
All the very best Aditti di for the success of Adhira!
Much love!
