Book Review - Superwomen by Prachi Garg

Blurb-
In a nation that reverses women as goddesses of wealth, knowledge, power and infinite energy, there are a few who have gone on to prove why. Not only have they carved a niche for their talent, but have also inspired and empowered many others in the process.

This book brings forth the stories of twenty women entrepreneurs who have struck a perfect personal – professional harmony and a chord with their immediate consumers. Their innovative ventures encompass a varied range of services – from supporting victims of acid attacks, to providing free skin care solutions; from online retail of lingerie, handmade bags and fashion accessories, to eco – friendly products of everyday utility; from pet care products, to quirky merchandise; from empowering folk artists, to providing clinical assistance to those going through tough times; from image consulting to house hunting; from arty solutions, to innovative marketing and corporate communication;  from creating happy readers to making religious ceremonies simpler – these entrepreneurs have opened avenues formerly unexplored. Superwomen is an interesting journey of how they played their roles to perfection, aligning their families with their ambitions, showing the world their true mettle.

About the book-
The book consists of some highly inspiring stories. The stories tell you about the journey of women from scratch to being highly successful in their fields. These stories are a slap of all those people with a mentality that women are made only to get married and be in the walls of their houses. Women are much more than what this society thinks of them. Women are strong and that is the reason they suffer hardships and overcome obstacles, which came in their lives. This book explains the helplessness of the women featured in the book in the same manner as does it the success.

Writing and Narration-
The writing style of the authoress is intriguing. She has been successful in keeping readers hooked with the book till the end. The narration style is also different and the way stories have been presented is commendable.

Title and cover-
The title of the book catches the reader’s attention and every woman would pick the book, just to know the recipe of being a superwoman. The cover of the book is catchy as well as cute.

My verdict-
Almost every story of the book is inspiring while some are disturbing as well, for instance – the story about the Make Love Not Scars. These 20 stories shows that starting up something, and that too, when it involves helping a complete stranger, is not an easy job. Every person has to be physically and mentally prepared, just to bear the repercussions of their dreams. If you are looking for a bit of inspiration, then go for this book.
